Carl-Friedrich- Gauss-Gymnasium in Frankfurt (Oder) I met with approximately 15 students for an open discussion about the United States. The students asked questions concerning topics that included: the current White House Administration; gun laws; study abroad to the U.S., future German-American relationship; 2016 election; and my experiences in Germany as an exchange student. The students were engaged and posed thought-provoking questions for the entire 90-minute discussion - so bravo to the students! The students seemed genuinely interested in my opinions and open to broadening their perspectives on controversial topics. As an educator, I was very proud of them for keeping me on my toes. I hope to have another opportunity to meet with students again before I move back to the US at the end of my Fulbright grant.
